School Hours, Delays, and Closings

Portland Public Schools uses ParentSquare to send out texts messages and emails for school delays and closings. 

Every effort is made to cancel school as early as possible on days of severe inclement weather. In most instances, the decision is made and broadcast by 6:00 a.m. In addition to the message being sent from Parentsquare, the cancellation announcements will be aired by the following television stations: TV Channel 3, WVIT - TV Channel 30, WTIC – TV Channel 61.

PreK 8:45 am – 11:15 am 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Kindergarten and 1st Grade –  8:30 am – 3:00 pm

Delayed Opening Hours:

PreK 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm (No AM PreK)

Kindergarten and 1st Grade –  10:30 am – 3:00 pm

Early Dismissal Hours: 

PreK 8:45 to 11:15 (No PM PreK)
