Good afternoon families!

Week one is officially in the books! This week, our students had the opportunity to learn their way around the school, meet their teachers, and get comfortable with our daily routines and expectations. Throughout the building, I saw students engaged in team-building, problem-solving, and setting goals for the new school year. We are truly looking forward to partnering with you as the year unfolds.

This afternoon, our school community had the unique privilege of taking part in "Paulie's Push." Retired United Airlines flight attendant Paul Veneto passed right by Brownstone Intermediate School today. Paul has pushed an airline beverage cart more than 750 miles along routes symbolizing the flight paths of the four aircraft hijacked on September 11, 2001, honoring the brave flight crews and first responders from that day.

Our Brownstone students gathered to greet him at his final stop of the day at the Portland Fire Department. (Note: We are finalizing our media approval permission slips and will share photos of the event as soon as possible!) Be sure to tune in to Channel 8 this evening to watch Paul's inspirational story featured on the news.
