Dear Families,
This week, I was able to get into many classrooms, and I was incredibly impressed by what I saw. Expectations and routines are already well established, meaningful learning is taking place, and classroom communities are beginning to take shape. It is truly impressive to see how much has been accomplished in such a short time!
A friendly reminder about parent pickup: We realize that the traffic light on Main Street not working and the limited number of parking spaces can make dismissal frustrating. However, our top priority remains keeping our students and families safe. Please remember that once the four spots in the cutout before the bus circle are filled, you must park in the parking lot. We have had cars double parking and passing other vehicles, which blocks the buses from entering the circle. We also want to extend a big thank you to the Portland Police Department for coming over to help with arrival and dismissal while the traffic light is being repaired.
Our first PTO meeting will be this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Gildersleeve conference room. We hope to see many of you there!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend! 🐝
